Samuel T. Bratton

Sam is Chief Executive Officer and President of Wake Stone.  In his role, Sam oversees 165 employees and operations at four quarries in North Carolina and one in South Carolina. Sam has experience in all aspects of the business, from his first job as a pit foreman, to managing sales and real estate activities, including the opening of the North Myrtle Beach Quarry.

Prior to joining Wake Stone, Sam was a commercial real estate broker for Allenton Commercial in Durham. Sam received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Industrial Relations and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Wake Forest University.

He currently serves as a member of the North Carolina Mining Commission and as a Board Member of the National Sand Stone and Gravel Association.

Sam was born and raised in Raleigh and remains active in the community. He has served as President of the Knightdale Chamber of Commerce, President of the Terpsichorean Club, President of the Triangle Area Board of the Woodberry Forest Alumni Association, Member of the Christ Church Finance Committee, President of the North Carolina Aggregates Association and Associate Board Member of the Carolina Asphalt Pavement Association.
